‘This tender, bid and contract management system is unique in that, for the first time, vendors are being invited to tender live on the system’, says Maurice Egan, Group Head Manufacturing. “Procurement capex is the biggest single cost element in SABMiller, some $US900-million a year, and, based on the Proof of Concept (PoC) phase of iSpec, the system can deliver on average a 3% saving on total project cost. iSpec provides excellent transparency and efficiency – especially the dashboard function where one can get a quick overview of where all procurement packages are in the tender process.

  • All communication (clarifications / TQ’s / Addenda) on one system, no more offline emails.  So anyone accessing or taking a package over, will have all correspondence relating to the tender
  • Serves as live procurement schedule (NO MANUAL UPDATING AN EXCEL SPREADSHEET….)
  • Great reporting tool, analytics at the press of a button
  • Has features for all project controls after award – GREAT features worth exploring
  • Can use for award and notifying unsuccessful bidders
  • Compared to the other system proposed, this one a winner by far, especially as our suppliers and subcontractors do not pay a premium. 

In a nutshell, very impressed with affordability for such a quality system.  Have tested many in the past and most do not cater as well as iSpec does for construction procurement.
